Home staging is the practice of strategically arranging furniture and décor in the rooms of a house for photographs and home tours.

Usually, the goal of home staging for real estate is to make a house look better and more appealing to potential buyers. Home staging can help homes sell faster and for more money.

But this is not always the case. Unfortunately for some sellers (and fortunately for this blog post), some people don’t quite fully have the hang of home staging, resulting in some terribly awkward listing photos.

Camp out in your brand new guest bedroom! (Does this mean there’s no heat?)

Sunbed: check. Basket of towels: check. Fake tree: check. This is either a sun room or a very sad spa.

The perfect listing for Mac enthusiasts, this home comes complete with an apple shrine.

After a long day of standing very still, sometimes we like to unwind with a glass of Chardonnay and a cotton ball bath, too.

This bathroom somehow manages to appear both ridiculously comfortable and painfully uncomfortable at the same time. 

Moral of the story: stage at your own risk. When in doubt, consult a professional!
